The Third Test

Today was the day of our third test. We reviewed from 10 am – 11:40 am. Overall, I felt a bit worse than last week because I just wasn’t as familiar with the material. Equilibrium, fluids, and waves and oscillations is a lot to fit into one week and they’re eat their own separate concepts so there wasn’t much overlap.

The actual test wasn’t too bad though. I was able to answer all the tutorial questions and multiple choice questions but my confidence in them was lower than last week.

More Foosball

After lunch I played some foosball with Elijah and some of his friends. I think we played for about 20-30 minutes but it was a lot of fun. He’s good at blocking my goalie shots so it’s hard for me to get past him. I lost to him when we did a 1 vs 1 but maybe I’ll be able to beat him next week. After going back to the dorms I crashed for a few hours and then it was time for dinner!

Unfortunate Timing

The plan was for us to go to Ramen Dayo! again and I was really looking forward to getting the spicy ramen. We tried making reservations earlier in the day but they didn’t take reservations so we went there at 6:30 and waited for a table. The waiters said they didn’t know how long it would be but that they would call us when a table was ready. To pass the time, we sat on a patch of grass a minute behind the restaurant. After about 30 minutes we went to go check in on the table and they said they still didn’t have room for us. So we went back to the grass. We then came back 20 minutes later and the waiter just told us that he had to give the table to someone else. Apparently the table had been ready for 20 minutes and when he tried to call us, the call wouldn’t go through. He said he searched up and down all the restaurants for us but could only hold it for as long as he did. At least he tried to find us, but it’s unlucky that the table probably was freed right after we came to check.

Traditional Scottish Food

We went to Old Salty’s instead for dinner. They served fish and chips and haggis and other traditional Scottish foods. I got a Chicken Curry Pie with fries and it was alright. It didn’t make me go wow but it was nice trying something Scottish for a change. It was pretty much a chicken curry pot pie, but the inside only has chicken and curry and no vegetables.

Afterwards we went to loop and scoop to get dessert. I tried the churro bites this time with vanilla ice cream and I think I’ve saturated my palate with loop and scoop. The churros just don’t taste as good anymore but it could be because of what I’m buying. The very first time I bought an ice cream sandwich, so the churros were wide and fluffy. The churro bites weren’t as soft on the inside, but they were smaller so maybe when they get fried they don’t get as fluffy. The vanilla ice cream was just as good as ever though.
