Facing the Beast
Today was test day and well it was okay. I derived equations during the drop in hours before the test and then walked in and faced the behemoth. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, and one of the frq questions was basically a tutorial question we did. Let’s just hope I get a decent score when I get my test back on Wednesday or else I really misjudged my performance.
Choosing the Wrong Chicken
For lunch, the QMU served chicken with rice. Their choices of chicken were charbroiled chicken legs or vegan chicken nuggets. The charbroiled chicken honestly looked great but I was worried that they would be really fatty and hard to eat like the brisket the day before. I opted for the safe route and chose the chicken nuggets. That was a mistake…All of my other friends ate the charbroiled chicken and they said it was great. Luckily, one of them shared their chicken with me and now I know to follow my eyes next time. It was honestly one of the best dishes they’ve served to date.
Thai Take Two
For dinner, we went to Thai Siam. We originally tried eating there two weeks ago after our hike at Loch Lomond but they were full so we went to a Chinese place instead. Well now we were back – and we even made a reservation too! I got the Chicken Pad Thai. Ya it’s basic but it’s my safety net. I don’t want to risk trying something new and disliking it, especially when my only meal for dinner is at stake. It was pretty good but I wasn’t in awe. I am a pretty picky eater though so take my words with a grain of salt.
I Scream for…Nutella Ice Cream?
After we got Thai food, we tried going to this donut shop called Tantrum, but they closed at 5:00pm! Wayy too early but oh well. So we walked up Bryers Road in search of some delicate desserts. We managed to find a small little shop called University Cafe that looked like an old timey 1950s diner. It was pretty cool. I ordered the apple pie with nutella ice cream and that really hit the spot. The pie was warm and the ice cream was so cold and the nutella and apple was a great sugary combination. A great way to end dinner!
Tarantino Time 😎
We wrapped up the night by watching Pulp Fiction. I’ve never seen it before. LA in the 90s looked wild. I can’t believe Samuel L. Jackson voiced Frozone in The Incredibles and I can see why Mr. Pearson kept mentioning Quentin Tarantino during our movie unit in AP Lang. There were so many famous actors – it was like calling all The Avengers together. It was a magnificent movie and the two and a half hours went by in a snap.
After the test, I had never felt so free in my life and the rest of the day was spent indulging life and all its delicacies.
